Professor Emeritus Evangelos Gidarakos of the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Crete, in collaboration with Prof. Dimitri Deheyn from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in San Diego and Prof. Andreas Bartl from TU Vienna, organized the MICRO/FORCE Workshop, which took place within the framework of the 64th Dornbirn-GFC International Conference, held from September 10 to 12 in Dornbirn, Austria.
Professor Gidarakos’ presentation, titled “PFAS Toxicity in Fibers”, focused on the mechanisms of PFAS release from fibers, the pathways of human exposure, as well as the impacts of PFAS on human health and the environment.
The organization of the MICRO/FORCE Workshop is the result of collaboration between the Technical University of Crete, TU Vienna, and the University of San Diego (USA), as part of the strategic effort to connect the Technical University of Crete with internationally recognized higher education institutions. The initiative bridges science, industry, and policy to foster constructive, solution-oriented discussions.
