The 5th International Conference on Sustainable Chemical and Environmental Engineering (SUSTENG 2026) was successfully concluded. The conference was held in hybrid format, both in person and online, from 2–5 September 2026 at the House of Culture in »(https://www.susteng2026.tuc.gr/en/home) Rethymno, Greece.
During the conference, more than 70 scientific papers were presented, with participants from Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, and South America. The conference also featured two keynote lectures on the following topics:

“Transforming Food and Agricultural Waste into Bioenergy and Bioproducts”
Prof. Muhammad Arslan Ashraf, Department of Botany, Government College University Faisalabad, Pakistan
“Taurine: An Emerging Biostimulant for Improving Plant Tolerance to Environmental Abiotic Stresses”
The Conference was organized by the Environmental Process Design Laboratory of the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Crete, with Professor Petros Gikas as Chair of the Organizing Committee, in collaboration with the School of Chemical Engineering of Democritus University of Thrace, and with the kind sponsorship of the following companies: MOTOR OIL S.A., KAOUSSIS S.A., CRETA FARMS S.A., DEDISA, PANGAEA IKE, and ANELIXIS DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANTS S.A.
