Professor Nicolas Kalogerakis, Vice President of the Council of the Technical Univeristy of Crete, gave an invited talk titled "Bio-degradation of plastic debris in the marine environment: Any hope for a clean Med Sea?", to the European Parliament on February 1, 2017.

The talk was presented in the context of the meeting "Tackling Marine Litter in the Mediterranean from Research to Action", attended by parliamentarians, the European Commission, environmentalists and industry people, in order to define prevention policies and actions.
