Για τη συ λλογή δεδομένων και επεξεργασία αυτώ ν διαμοιράστηκε ηλεκτρονικά ερωτηματ ολόγιο, το οποίο συνοδευόταν από αντ ίστοιχη πρόσκληση για τη συμπλήρωσή του. Μετέπειτα, ακολούθησε η επεξεργ ασία των δεδομένων που συλλέχθηκαν,  σε συνάρτηση με δημογραφικά στοιχεί α, ώστε να επιτευχθεί η καλύτερη κατ ανόηση του φαινομένου της περιορισμέ νης πρόσβασης στο δίκτυο Μέσων Μαζικ ής Μεταφοράς και των σχετικών παρεχό μενων υπηρεσιών μετακίνησης. Στην ει σαγωγή, γίνεται μία πρώτη επαφή με τ ον όρο της μεταφορικής ένδειας. Παρα τίθενται οι πτυχές και οι μορφές του προβλήματος, οι τρόποι με τους οποί ους επηρεάζονται ομάδες πολιτών, ενώ παρουσιάζονται στοιχεία από σχετικέ ς μελέτες, από  την υφιστάμενη βιβλι ογραφία.  Στο επόμενο κεφάλαιο γίνετ αι παρουσίαση της μεθοδολογίας, η οπ οία ακολουθήθηκε για την προσέγγιση του προβλήματος, με στόχο τη συλλογή δεδομένων. Οι απαντήσεις των ερωτημ ατολογίων παρουσιάζονται σε μορφή πι νάκων, συνοδευόμενοι από σύντομη περ ιγραφή σχετικά με τους παράγοντες γι α τους οποίους εξετάζονται.  Μετά τη ν παρουσίαση των αποτελεσμάτων, ακολ ουθεί η συζήτηση, κατά την οποία εξε τάζεται, κατά πόσο εμφανίζεται το φα ινόμενο της φτώχειας στην κινητικότη τα για τους δήμους Πλατανιά και Χανί ων. Φαινόμενα μεταφορικής ένδειας εν τοπίζονται και στους δύο δήμους, καθ ώς μεγάλο ποσοστό δημοτών μετακινείτ αι με άλλα μέσα εκτός του λεωφορείου . Οι ελλείψεις, η χαμηλή ποιότητα τω ν υπηρεσιών και υποδομών, καθώς και η υψηλή τιμή εισιτηρίου φαίνεται να επηρεάζουν έναν αριθμό κοινωνικών ομ άδων. Τέλος, δίνεται μία πιο πλήρης και σαφή εικόνα των προβλημάτων που αντιμετωπίζουν οι δημότες. Ευαίσθητε ς κοινωνικές ομάδες όπως είναι οι γυ ναίκες, άτομα με χαμηλά εισοδήματα, νεαρά άτομα και μεγάλοι σε ηλικία κα λούνται να αντιμετωπίσουν προκλήσεις σε ότι αφορά την καθημερινή χρήση τ ων λεωφορείων. Το συμπέρασμα που εξά γεται από αυτή τη διατριβή είναι ότι και οι δύο δήμοι αντιμετωπίζουν φαι νόμενα μεταφορικής ένδειας, η οποία φαίνεται να επηρεάζει τις προαναφερό μενες ομάδες. Απόρροια της μελέτης ε ίναι κατανόηση της φύσης τους προβλή ματος και η πρόταση λύσεων και περαι τέρω διερεύνηση για τους υπόλοιπους δήμους. Τα στοιχεία αυτά θα μπορούσα ν να αποτελέσουν σημείο αναφοράς για την υιοθέτηση και το σχεδιασμό αποδ οτικών συστημάτων μεταφοράς, ώστε να προαχθεί η βελτίωση της ποιότητας ζ ωής των μόνιμων κατοίκων, αλλά και τ ων επισκεπτών των δημοφιλών αυτών το υριστικών προορισμών.\n Abstract:\n The subject of the thesis is the stu dy of mobility poverty for the munic ipalities of Chania and Platanias. F or the collection and data process, an online questionnaire was distribu ted, accompanied by an invitation fo r encouraging citizens to participat e. Subsequently, the data collected were processed in conjunction with d emographics, in order to define a be tter understanding of the phenomenon of limited access to the public tra nsport services.\n In the introducti on, the initial definition of mobili ty poverty was given, together with aspects and layers of the phenomenon . The factors that accelerating the appearance of mobility poverty were defined, the affected target groups and critical findings from the limit ed available literature.\n The next chapter presents the methodological approach that was followed for the i nvestigation of the phenomenon in th e selected territories, aiming to co llect the necessary responses throug h the structured questionnaire. The responses are presented in tabular f orm, accompanied by a brief descript ion on the factors for which they ar e considered. After the presentation of the results, a discussion follow s, which examines whether the phenom enon of mobility poverty in Platania s and Chania municipalities exists, and which are the circumstances that enhance its appearance. Mobility po verty phenomena are found in both mu nicipalities, where the population i s called to travel using alternative modes than the public transport sin ce the services are considered limit ed. The limited provided services an d absence of transportation equipmen t and infrastructure at local level, the low-quality services and the hi gh-ticket cost seem to affect numero us of social groups. Concluding, a c learer and completed view of the pro blems faced by citizens is given. Vu lnerable social groups such as women , low-income households, young and o lder people face challenges in terms of daily transportation. As a resul t, the identification of mobility po verty phenomena in both selected mun icipalities is derived from the rese arch of this thesis. The outcome of the study is the understanding of th e nature of this problem and the sug gestion of solutions and further inv estigation, possibly for other munic ipalities with the same characterist ics.
